Cinco De Mayo

So this past Saturday was cinco de mayo. The celebration of a victory Mexico had over the French back in the 1800's. Mexican forces wounded (and/or killed) 500 of Napoleon's troops near Puebla.
Most people thing cinco de mayo is the celebration of Mexican independence. Or they just use it as an excuse to get drunk.
I did not celebrate in my normal way. There was no authentic Mexican food, there was some deep fried mini tacos from the Irish pub where I work. I didn't have the worlds greatest margarita, instead I drank a michelada that I made on my own with our bloody mary mix, some tabasco and a corona light followed later by some shots of Sammy Hagar's tequila and some Canadian beer. There were no wonderful mariachi or salsa songs in my head, it was 90's rock at work and a boxing match at the next spot.
Matter of fact the only Spanish I spoke was when reading my t-shirt which was of Dr. Seuss's one fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish only in Spanish.
It'll be nice to finally get to Mexico and actually get the food and drink I want, when I want it.
I don't have much else to say except that I'm scared. Only 2 weeks left. Time is getting closer.
