So as a follow up to my last post. I went back out and went to the market, found a better route that wouldn't get me lost. On the way I realized that this teachers strike and their make shift tents and things are not meant for the average American to walk through. I spent the entire time hunched over to avoid tarps and cables from knocking me in the head. So if you're over 5'9" (my height) be prepared for a lot more bending!
I did manage to snap a few photos on my phone to illustrate the issue that people are having with them occupying the streets.
Not quite a 4 foot pile but you get the point. This city has corners all over this area where the occupiers are that are just mounds of garbage and on a 90+ degree day... it's not pleasant.
This isn't the best picture because I was standing at a corner and just wanted a quick shot but imagine this all down the streets. That's what the city looks like right now.
